My light cuttings are delicate so I created durable stencils in the FabLab for the rubbings. Participants quickly find that it’s not as easy to do as expected. After the participants have finished their process and I’ve introduced them to modified versions of my own techniques, I begin the final process of creating a digital book to commemorate their workshop experience online and in print. The results vary, but unless I rub them myself, they require digital mastering for the finished book. In my workshops, we work with a variety of materials fabricated as educational tools. These tools allow participants access to rapid creation methods at lower skill levels than my own. This group of images are the result of that. Following these and a page of a book created at my workshops for the Turkischer Elternverein community in the Kreuzberg neighborhood of Berlin.
